The present roll is 30 pupils. The composite classes are Primary 1-3 and Primary 4-7.
The school is part of the Aboyne schools cluster, feeding into Aboyne Academy for secondary education.
Built over 100 years ago, the building is typical of many rural schools in Aberdeenshire. Although old, the building is in good repair.
There are three classrooms, a general purpose hall, toilets, two offices and a staff room.
Outside, there is a hard playground area to the rear and side of the school with bike racks, climbing frames, timber play equipment and picnic bench seating area. There is also a football pitch complete with goal posts, as well as an extensive flower and vegetable garden with raised beds.
